DoubleBlind Issue 9

$18.00
The psychedelic movement is continuing to expand and grow at rapid speed and, yet, simultaneously we’re seeing an internal call to slow down, to be more intentional. In this issue of DoubleBlind, we highlight voices who seek to do that by broadening and complexifying the conversations we’re all having. Yes, psychedelics have shown promise for disrupting our current mental health epidemic, but what might we be missing when that’s our only lens?

There’s now robust amounts of data showing psychedelics hold promise for mental health and, yet, if we’re seeking to reduce suffering among the most number of people, it’s not quite that simple. In this issue, we feature prescient work being done to create more inclusivity within psychedelics, through organizations such as the Asian Psychedelic Collective, the Arab Psychedelic Society, and Queering Psychedelics, a conference series and book highlighting LGBTQIA+ voices within psychedelics. We also look at ongoing psychedelic reform efforts —and people around the country who are already facilitating supported experiences and setting up shop. The care being offered runs the gamut, from clinical settings to underground ceremonies. We’re here to hold space for the critical conversations that are unfolding as we navigate through these experiences, individually and collectively.
