A set of four terracotta coasters reminiscent of the rippled sand dunes in the American southwest. Their ridged design keeps your favorite drinks steady and surfaces protected. Arrange all four together to make a trivet for your kitchen or tabletop.
These patterned glasses were designed for Areaware in collaboration with Ben Medansky a ceramacist who is also an orchestrator of controlled chaos, a sculptor of hard edges in naturalistic worlds, a refiner of industrial aesthetics that retain rough and human qualities. He is especially influenced by Brutalist and Modern architecture and industrial design; specifically by the strong and diverse architecture of downtown LA and its seemingly uninterrupted construction. The output is a meditation on minimalism and mechanics, re-mastered in earthen and eternal material.
Dune Coasters are cork-backed and come in four different glazes; blue, black, pink, and green.
- Set of 4, each is 3.5" square
